Qari’ Muhammad ‘Uthman Al-Qasim was born and raised in the city of Bradford, North of England. He completed his memorisation of the Holy Qur’aan at Jam’iyyah Al-Muhaafadhah ‘alal-Qur’aanil Kareem in Zarqaa’, Jordan, in 2004/1425AH.
Following his completion of memorisation, Qari’ ‘Uthman was granted the opportunity to pursue his Qur’anic Studies alongside other Islamic Sciences at the prestigious Umm-Al-Qura University in Makkah Al-Mukarramah. He has taught the Qur’aan at various levels to both children and adults for over 15 years. His classes range from Beginners Tajweed through Advanced level as well as Hifdh (memorisation) programs. He holds an Ijaazah (License) in Tajweed from Shaikh Muhammad Ahmad Al-Bakri Al-Minyaawi by way of Imam Hafs ‘an ‘Aasim.
Qari’ Muhammad ‘Uthman has led Taraweeh prayers in the Holy Month of Ramadaan since 1997 both local and international including UK, Makkah, Kuwait and USA. His recordings are available worldwide.
In 2007, Qari’ ‘Uthman was appointed Imam of Masjid Al-Qattaan in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, where he led Taraweeh and Tahajjud prayers. In 2010 he was appointed Imam and Khateeb at the Muslim Community Centre in Woking, Surrey. He has attended conventions as a guest reciter for various Islamic events on a global level.
At present Qari’ ‘Uthman is the director and lead instructor at Al Tibyan Institute. He is passionate and keen to ensure that every student at Al Tibyan excels and succeeds in their study of the Qur’aan.
